Happy 20 Year Wedding Anniversary

Mark and I are celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary today August 22, 2015. I’m as crazy for this guy as I was the day I laid eyes on him. I remember seeing Mark long before we were married and thinking to myself, “That’s the guy I’m going to marry.” Well actually I said it out loud to my sister. 20 years later here we are. God must of saw what I saw and felt.  Our God agreed that me and Mark was ment to be together that he secured this blessing between myself and my husband because I know there were no way I could had guessed it right all by myself.

Thank you to my loving God  for securing me and making me complete with the best guy I have ever met “my husband Mark” thanks so much for this blessing.
Thank you for the 20 years of lessons on being a wife. I know you are preparing me for my next 20 years of how to be a great wife for the true blessing you gave me. Sometimes I ask what did I do to deserve such a guy and then I’m blessed to know my husband ask God the same question which tells me I’m doing something right.  With all that being said I want to say thanks our loving God Jehovah. Thanks for blessing me with my loving husband Mark.

Mark! Thanks for being there and here for me, thanks for loving me when there were times I didn’t think I deserve your love, thanks for being the best father any child can ask for, thanks for being the strongest guy I know. I love you so much.
I love how you are there for the smallest of things. Mariah or I never wants for anything, I mean you think of the minute things even when we don’t tell you what we want you always know. How do you do that? “I can’t keep up I’m just amazed by you”. Remember when we had a Janitorial Business together in only our 2ndyear of marriage? Although it took a lot out of us, all that mattered is that we were together. Can you believe it’s been 20 years? Remember when it was just me and you? I know me either and nor do I want to remember because I love having our daughter in our life. I remember you picking up the nurse and hugging and you even kissed her on the cheek when she said we were having a daughter how special was that moment I’ll never ever forget that. I love August 22nd can you believe we actually closed on our first house August 22nd wow and we didn’t even plan it that way. I always say good things always happens on this date we’ll let me correct myself the greatest thing happen on this date when I married you. Well this is just to say Thank you so much and happy 20 year Anniversary? Mark you are truly my rock. Here is my dedicated song video to you.
Love you much

It's not always black and white

But wouldn't it be nice if it was?

Clean, chic, and simply elegant.

PS We found out yesterday that we lost the house that we completely loved

The bank (despite our offer) decided to go into foreclosure, so it's off the market for now.

Total bummer.

I keep giving myself a pep talk, something, along the lines off, "Everything happens for a reason, it's probably a blessing is disguise, we'll find something better." and it's kind of working.

Back to square one.

An offer and the waiting game

Hopefully I'm not jinxing us, or the offer we submitted on this house over the holiday weekend by posting this, but I'm just a little excited at the thought that it might, possibly, hopefully, be ours soon!

The house is a pre-approved short sale, which means we've got a 3 to 4 week waiting period before we know if the bank accepts our offer. But the offer we made was essentially the asking price, and there are no other offers on it, so we're really hopeful it will be.

For now I won't share any details on the house other than we feel really lucky to have found it.

(I don't want to jinx us any more than I am by posting this. :))

So now we're kind of in limbo and playing the waiting game.

(Insert Jeopardy theme song.)

We'll see....

6 Random Thoughts

1. If you looked at our most recent grocery bill, you'd think we had a bunch of teenage boys living in our house. But no, it's just a occasionally crazy pregnant woman who wants to eat every fruit know to man and a lot of french toast sticks.

2. I think I really want to try making these simple, glam dishes.

via

These would make my Cheerios extra fancy. :)

3. With it still being over 100 degrees here, we eat a lot of fruit, veggies and salads for dinner so that we don't have to turn the oven on. This is one of our favorite salad dressings, and we love it on a spinach, fresh strawberry, and grilled chicken salad. (PS if you want to add some mandrin oranges to this salad, it's also amazing.)

4. I'm really in love with white, wide plank floors.

5.  Even though we won't find out what we're having till October, my momma's instinct is telling me it's a girl. :) I'm thinking of doing "her" nursery in a simple, glam, chic style. Think white walls, molding, mint green, some gold with a little mid-century twist.  And colors and patterns like this.

6.  Lastly I want to thank all of you for being so patient with me and my lack of projects, posting and responding to every single comment.  Please know I am so grateful for your encouragement and well wishes. I wish I could say the morning sickness is totally gone. I had a few amazing days, and now I'm back to lying on the couch for most the morning.  But really, truly, sincerely THANK YOU for sticking around. This is for all you, beautiful people. :)

Vintage Blue and Purple Girls bedroom

Hello friends, happy Monday I hope you had a pleasant weekend. Recently I received a comment from a viewer on a post I did on Vintage Style Teen Girls Bedroom Ideas this viewer was quite interested in a design for her 12 year old daughters room in the colors lavender and baby blue so in a effort to answer her question I thought how cool will it be if I did a mocked room in those very colors with a twist of green since green is my favorite color. Here's the deal this viewer wanted the room to be vintage style with lavender and baby blue and she also mention her daughter loves makeup as well. Now let’s keep in mind that I have no room sizes, no room shape so I couldn’t possibly in no way give this viewer an exact look of her daughter’s room but here is what the comment was and what I came up with for vintage teen girly room.

Any ideas for a lavender and baby blue bedroom for a 12 year old girl who's into makeup and fashion?
This is my comment back to this viewer
Hi Anonymous, I wish I knew your name and then I can call you by it but anyhow thanks for your comment. Lavender and baby blue bedroom sounds absolutely beautiful together and for a 12 year old no less is all the more. First taking her age in to consideration I would make sure to give her more of a teen room because if we know anything about kids or they don’t stay youngsters forever. Furthermore I would maybe bring in one of the color on to the wall and built around it with some of her favorite things and if you’re going vintage don’t forget to use some things that are period pieces like old dresser or nightstands, throw pillows with perhaps some writing on them and you can’t forget a makeup table of some kind. Whatever you do just make certain your daughter is happy with it and you can’t go wrong.

What you think of what I came up with?
Friends I hope you were able to see the vintage in this room. I started off with purple wallpaper on the focal wall and on the two side walls baby blue paint.  For the bed I used an old Iron bed and painted it a baby blue color. Well I like to imagine I found this old era Iron bed that was old and yucky and made it new again and dressed it in some pretty bedding old is what makes vintage, vintage. Furthermore I found a beautiful pillow with some vintage writing on it and included it in with the rest of the bedding. Friends check out the cute vintage dress horse isn’t it just beautiful.  Now remember our reader made mention of her daughter loving makeup? I was sure to include a beautiful makeup vanity to put on makeup when she’s ready. Another thing I like a lot is the two beautiful sconces on either side of the bed. I think it helps bring the room together but even more how about the beautiful sketch of the girl wearing all that makeup above the bed. Just lovely right! Here is the source of this sketch here
Well my Friends I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I have. It’s nice to imagine on occasion right?

Real Estate Snitch Wednesday’s - Alex Rodriguez

Hello friends, New York Yankees 3rd basemen Alex Rodriguez is on the Snitch radar for this week Real Estate Snitch Wednesday’s. Reports are flying around that Alex has sold his $24 Million Miami Mansion for wait for it, wait for it!! $38 Million! Yup friends you heard right a $14 million dollar profit after only living in the home for 2 years see friends Alex bought this home in 2010 and its only 2015 how about that for having celebrity status? But friends I have to admit this is a stunner with spectacular views on the Miami skyline and Biscayne Bay, a batting cage any baseball player will love to have and did I mention The master suite has 2,200 square feet of space with an atrium, sitting area, his and hers baths and oversized closets. I’ll say this is a spectacular home but would I pay $14 million over the price it was purchased for only two years ago hmm will I’m a Yankees fan and a big one at that but $14 million over the purchase price two years ago I’m not so sure and they say the real estate market is bad hmmm I’m starting to wonder who is they! Well friends check out Alex Rodriguez cool digs at 4358 North Bay Road with 275 feet of water frontage that includes not just one but two docks. Check it out

What do you think?
Would you pay $14 million dollars over the price he paid for it two years ago?

Any takers for these Craigslist finds?

I'm still not quite ready to head down to the garage to paint, (morning sickness aside, it's still 110 degrees here...and that destroys most motivation), but I'm still searching Craigslist for possible pieces.

It's a hard habit to break.

Here are some pieces that I've found this week that are available in the great Phoenix area if you are interested.

The link to the add is below each picture.

Oh my gosh I love this chair...maybe for the new house...?

Ugly...awesome chair....? I see potential.

Perfectly proportioned bookshelf.

Dining Rooms A Place to Gather

Hello friends, how many of us long for family time and a place to gather as a family unit? No matter how many people are at the table or how simple the meal, you'll want to create an inviting dining room. Choosing furniture that suits your family and arranging it in a way that works for you is the key to a pleasant dining experience. What I'm trying to say is your furniture should be arranged for comfort and ease of movement, allowing enough space at the table for each person and to serve family and guest elegantly and with gracefully.

Sitting at the table
Sitting at the dining table can be a good experience or one that is dreadful. Have you ever set at a dining table and your leg hits the leg of the table or it feels as though the dining table is sitting on your lap? Well that is called an arrangement that doesn’t suits your family and guest. Friends when I go out shopping with my clients for dining tables and chairs I always advise them to sit in the chairs and pull them all the way up to the table to make sure they fit under the table comfortably. Every now and then I like to brag about how much I know about a good shopping experience and this is one of those times but anyhow I want you to have a comfortable time when you’re gathering at the table with your family without the worry of hitting knees against the table. So here is where my experience of working for a furniture company comes into play. I know how important it is to have fun and comfortable gatherings with family and friends that is why when you shop for dining makes sure to have your measuring tape and be ready to test out the seats and table heights.
Dining table and Chairs:
A rectangular table is traditional, but a round one puts everyone on equal footing. For a dual purpose room think about two square tables one for family meals and one for work and then you can join the two together for entertaining.  Friends I don’t know about you but comfortable chairs are a must no matter what your serving weather it’s a quick bite or huge course dinner. So without further ado let’s check out some pretty cool and beautiful dining rooms.
This is a e-deign dining room I put together. Have you ever thought about a tufted bench at the dining table? This can be very comfortable with all the cushion seating around this dining table.
How about the soft seating here? Beautiful!
I love the pink chairs at the end of the tables aren't they amazing and the chandelier I'm just crazy over.
Now who of us don't love traditional and era in a dining room? I'm sure everyone can fit at this table. This is the White House the State Dining Room in 2006, looking northwest into the Butler's Pantry (Spificwoman13) source here

I love this round table and the chandelier is spectacular what a comfy looking dinner table
Beautiful!
Large dining Area and beautiful space planing. I think the whole family can sit in this dining room.

This is an big space that gives your family lots of room to walk.

Friends I hope you and your family find these dining rooms inspiring and it gives you some cool ideas to use in your dining room. As you can see most of these dining rooms were comfy seating and round and rectangular tables to gather but there were so much more we didn’t touch on like the lighting and the placement of the furniture these things make a huge difference in a gracious experience for family and guest. Friends if you are looking for more dining room experiences check out the diningroom gallery here

My beautiful sister is marrying her sweet fiance tomorrow morning.

They are one of the sweetest pairs of love birds you'll ever met and I am so excited for them.

And we are flying to California today to join them in celebrating their new life as husband and wife.
